About the University
Established in 1939, Kyrgyz State Medical Academy (KSMA) is one of the most seasoned medical colleges of Kyrgyzstan. The primary group of the University comprised of around 200 students. The Institute is providing the best infrastructure for their students and quality facilities like good and spacious hostels, library, modern classrooms, etc. Moreover, the institute is providing a healthy and friendly environment in the campus for their students.
KSMA is considered as the prime college among every single medical school in Kyrgyzstan. KSMA is recognised by MCI, FAIMER, and IMED as well as by WHO. The institute offers General Medicine, Stomatology, and Paediatrics for Indian students. Kyrgyz State Medical Academy develops international relations with leading medical universities of the CIS and many other abroad countries, and has agreements, agreements and memoranda of cooperation with over 100 higher education institutions. The most active cooperation is with the universities of Russia, China, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Iran, Europe and South Korea through bilateral agreements and scientific and academic projects.
The therapeutic library of KSMA is one of the biggest in entire Kyrgyzstan containing in excess of 4,00,000 books and also having computerised reading material in CDs which provide suitable recordings and illustrations as well.
More than 12,000 students are already studying at KSMA which includes students from Kyrgyzstan, CIS countries, and 17 other foreign countries. Currently, there are 600 Indian students from various states. In KSMA, there are Medical, Pediatric, Stomatologic faculties, faculty on the training of foreign citizens and Institute of Pharmacy, Higher Nursing Education, Management and Public Health Care, and Medical School. Besides, the Institute of Post-Graduate Training of KSMA, a Research Institute of Fundamental Problems of Medicine and Biology and the Centre of International Cooperation is functioning. The academy prepares doctors for countries of far and near abroad; training is conducted in Russian and English languages.

Campus Living
Food is the most important and basic necessity of life. Keeping this necessity in mind, ISM has a special provision for food and catering to student needs through its mess/canteen. The university's hostel has a canteen where Indian cooks work. Students have opportunities to enjoy traditional Indian cuisine.
Two cooks from India work in the Indian mess. The cook from India is a South Indian food specialist while the cook from Nepal excels in North Indian food. The Indian ISM mess has a variety of menu that includes chapatti, rice, sweets, etc. The ISM Mess serves both Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian dishes. Meals are served three times a day.

On April 23, 2021, the Olympiad on Propaedeutics of children's diseases was held in the conference hall of the Medical Academy of Kyrgyzstan. The Olympiad was attended by teams from the Faculty of General Medicine No.1 "Smeshariki", General Medicine No. 2 "Fixiki" and from Pediatrics "Navi".
April 15–16, 2021 was organized by the Kazakh National University named after S.D. Asfendiyarov. The Republican Olympiad with international participation was held online: 11 teams from 5 universities from two republics (Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan). On behalf of I.K. Akhunbaev Kyrgyz State Medical Academy, two teams participated: Stern and Fito-pharm.
